- Hi all. I'll keep this brief since it's a newbie question compared to other
- discussions here...
-
- I'm setting up a scene in Lightwave and I want to 'roll' the sample popcan
- object. The problem is that I first pitch it back 90deg, create a key, move
- forward ten frames, translate it about one unit along X, and key that.
-
- Now I want to rotate the object through Z (It has a cylindrical image map) so
- that it 'rolls' to the new location. My mind can't wrap itself around the HPB
- coordinate system, since H seems to change to global Y axis, and P changes the
- global X, but B seems to change the RELATIVE Z axis - and since I'm pitched
- back 90deg, the relative Z and global Y are identical.
-
- I know I could probably go into modeler and rotate the object to change
- where it's relative axes' are, but I'd rather understand if there is an
- option I'm not taking advantage of, since I'm going to run into this again
- and again... Alternately, am I missing something about how HPB coordinates
- work, and if so, is there a formula to translate tham into XYZ rotational
- settings (and back)?
-
- Thanks in advance.
